Shopee MY + Lazada MY monitoring

Marketplace monitoring that gives brand teams a place to start.

Shopee MY and Lazada MY can contain thousands of loosely relevant listings. Inert Analytics looks for the signals that may matter most to your brand, preserves what is visible, and turns the result into an evidence-led review queue that your ecommerce, brand, distributor or legal team can work through.

Why seller monitoring is different from keyword searching

A search query may return a broad list of product names. That does not explain whether a listing is tied to an official store, uses familiar pharmacy or distributor styling, reuses an image seen elsewhere, sits below a meaningful price range, or appears connected to a repeat seller pattern.

Monitoring becomes more useful when a brand has reference points: official store URLs, a concise SKU list, known authorised sellers, and retail or promotional ranges. Those references make it possible to distinguish a generic product mention from a listing that deserves review. The methodology page describes the full set of inputs the scan expects from the brand.

What is checked across Shopee MY and Lazada MY

Listing and title signals

Brand terms, product naming, wording structures and visible claims that may need comparison with official references.

Seller profile context

Visible shop identity, store presentation, product volume, ratings and other profile details that help a team assess context.

Image and copy overlap

Official-looking graphics, product copy, title structures or other reused assets that may warrant a closer look.

Price and activity context

Visible pricing, discount presentation and sold/activity signals, compared against the information the brand supplies.

A sensible monitoring workflow

1. Set the reference

Confirm the official store links, product or SKU names, authorised sellers and price ranges that should guide the scan. Reference sets the threshold above which findings rise to the top of the report.

2. Capture the visible evidence

Record the listing and seller information that supports a finding: timestamps, screenshots, URLs and relevant visible context. Capture happens before interpretation so the receiving team can always check the source.

3. Rank for review

Prioritise the listings with the clearest evidence signals rather than treating every result as equally important. Evidence-strength ranking keeps the review queue small enough for the team to act on.

4. Decide the next action

A brand team can monitor, verify a relationship, test-buy, preserve a record, report to a marketplace or escalate internally. The right next step depends on the facts and the brand's own process, not on an automated label.

One-time scan vs. recurring watch

The same workflow supports both. The difference is whether findings are compared against a single snapshot in time, or against successive snapshots over the agreed cadence.

One-time scan is appropriate when the brand wants a documented baseline of marketplace evidence: at product launch, after a distributor concern, after a specific complaint, or as part of an internal channel-control review.

Recurring watch is appropriate when the brand has already seen the pattern repeat: sellers relisting under new names, prices drifting back below floor after a takedown, the same imagery reappearing in new shops, or any combination of those signals in quick succession.

What monitoring does not do

A marketplace scan does not establish product authenticity, make legal or regulatory findings, or replace a brand's internal, legal or compliance review. It makes the available marketplace evidence easier to review and act on. Authenticity, regulatory and consumer-safety conclusions require a different evidence basis and authority.

Seller-monitoring FAQ

Can you monitor more than one SKU?

Yes. Scope is set by the brand family, SKU count, marketplaces and cadence. A narrow paid trial is available for a single SKU where appropriate.

Can this catch sellers that relist?

Repeat-offender patterns can be noted when visible signals such as images, wording or seller aliases recur. A recurring watch is more useful than a one-off scan for ongoing reappearances.

Does Inert Analytics need access to our marketplace account?

No marketplace login is required for the standard evidence-led scan. Official reference links and seller information, where available, improve the quality of the review.

Which marketplaces are covered by default?

Shopee MY and Lazada MY are in the base scope. Other marketplaces are available as separately scoped work and are described as such rather than listed under the base scope.
